Flood Warning
UncategorizedThe River Forecast Centre has issued a Flood Warning for the Cowichan, Koksilah, and Chemainus Rivers.
This is the highest level of advisory and means that river levels have exceeded bankfull or will exceed bankfull imminently, and that flooding of areas adjacent to the rivers affected will result.
As of 9:30 am, Jan. 29:
- Koksilah River at Cowichan Station (08HA003) is flowing at approximately 200 m3/s (2-year flow) and slowly rising. Additional rises are expected through mid-day Monday
- Cowichan River near Duncan (08HA011) is flowing at approximately 440 m3/s (10-20 year flow). This is approaching 2009 flood levels. Continued rises are expected through Monday.
