High Streamflow Advisory for Cowichan River
UncategorizedThe BC River Forecast Centre has issued a High Streamflow Advisory for:
- Cowichan River and surrounding small streams in the area
Rainfall totals of 30 to 40 mm in the Cowichan River basin on Tuesday night resulted in high streamflow conditions Wednesday morning on the Cowichan River near Duncan (WSC 08HA011). Another 15 to 25 mm is forecast for Thursday night. Due to limited storage capacity in basin due to the series of storms over the last five days, streamflows are expected to rise to close to 400 m3/s (water level gauge height 3.2 m). Low-lying areas along the river or other minor streams in the area may experience flooding.
