With significant increases in water storage at Lake Cowichan, substantial reductions in water demand from municipal water systems and precipitation forecasted well into the foreseeable future, all local governments in the Cowichan Valley have downgraded the Water Use Restrictions to Stage 1 effective Friday, October 9, 2015.  Stage 1 Watering restrictions remain in effect until October 31, 2015.  Please note that the Woodley Range water system in Electoral Area H remains at Stage 3 Water Use Restrictions.  For users within Improvement Districts or those on private water systems, please contact your water provider for details on current water use restrictions.

The BC River Forecast Centre has reduced the Drought Level for Vancouver Island to Level 1 – Normal Conditions as of October 1, 2015.
